Report is to be reviewed for Process. Evaluation & Curriculum changes will have to come through the departments, colleges, etc. An expedited format may be created. CAAC’s expectation is that the report is simply a recommendation for ensuring a proper process begins within the normal curriculum process. Programs must be reviewed by Deans, Chairs, and Colleges, and once signed off at these levels, changes then go to Academic Affairs. For those programs that may be eliminated or modified without question, these likely can be expedited and may go to the Board in February—this process must be made as easy as possible. Some programs may be thoroughly reviewed and perhaps integrated, merged, reformatted, and kept active. Some may need to be reconsidered. It is understood there is a distinction between accepting or receiving the report and actual implementation. Not approving or implementing recommendation but moving them into the academic review process. This does not prejudice CAAC against a program. The process must not be subverted. Non viable programs can move quickly through but some programs need airing and need complete review. Decisions about courses in Elimination Category IV must still go through the Curriculum process. CAAC should approve the process but the implementation will be deliberate with all parties concerned. With respect to the question concerning General Education—Option 2 or Enhanced Option 2---the General Education Council should work with CAAC to implement at least Option 2 which CAAC has already recommended. CAAC Members should read and review the report and formulate any questions and comments to make recommendations at the next meeting. 9. The TAFFY report suggested GE Council appoint a task force to review the General Education Program. The Council should discuss such a task force in consultation with Bob Guell of TAFFY and bring forth a recommendation to CAAC for procedure. 10. PPARC Report. None. 11. Senate Executive Committee Report. The Executive Committee reviewed the Prioritization Task Force report and expressed concerns about the path the process takes from here. The Provost and Board decisions must be couched in the proper academic process and procedure. 12. UAAC Report. . 13. Senate Executive Committee Report. None 14. Gen Ed Report. None. 15. SGA Report.
