The Effects of Police Work on Family LifeThe job of a police officer is full of stressors, and these stressors can have an effect not only the police officer, but on the officer’s family as well. The main stressors police officers have to deal with are violence, time management, promotion, education, finances, and many different emotions. All of these stressors can lead to a disaster without proper treatment to diffuse the stress. Some ways that officers can get help is by having a religion, going to therapy, talking to a chaplain, and there are even several different ways that the spouse can help the officer dealing with stress.
